Pipe truss building of Xuzhou Train Station in China

Work scope

This total project is mainly made of pipe truss and box column as the roofing and support which was built for Xuzhoudong Railway Station in China. It is one of the seven central hubs of the Beijing - Shanghai High - speed Railway . We sub-contracted it from design, fabrication and installation in 2011. And only spent 5 months to finished 600 tons of steel column and 1800 tons of pipe truss to follow the schedule. It was appraised as Gold Award of Chinese Steel Structure.

The main building is public hall with two floors, there are three floors partly of side hall. The station hall , booking hall and waiting room are arranged on the first floor, normal seat waiting room is arranged on the second floor, the soft - berth waiting room is arranged on the mezzanine. The box column is main support for the roofing in this project. It is the best solution when the building has the big span. Its torsional rigidity is high with close type of thin-wall section so it is very helpful for hanging construction.
